Brake light switches
« on: March 28, 2013, 10:55:32 AM »
I recently installed new SS braided lines, but noticed that my brake light takes almost entire handful of brake in order to make it light up. Is there an adjustment I can make to front switch so it takes less pressure to make light up?
the bulb is fine, running light stays on and brake light works with with full grip.

Also, its been happening since last season, but my rear brake light switch has been going on and off and that’s what leads me to believe it’s the rear brake light switch. I tried adjusting it with no luck, so it does not light up at all now when pressing pedal down. Anyone have good recommendations for good rear light switch replacement? I’ve been checking out woodcraft.  And new spring replacements, anyone have a good source for these? Mine is getting rusty.
Thnx

what bike?

remove the switch from the rear pedal.
when you pull down on the spring to actuate the switch, can you get the rear brake light to come on?
if you can, its an adjustment issue, and not the switch.
aftermarket and oem rear spring switches are readily available, however.

Thanks flybox1.  When replacing the SS lines i didnt mess with it at all, but it was working fine before. Wondering if i should just replace both of them. Any good front brake switches?

you might just want to clean yours first, but assuming your MC is stock for your K4, there are switches on that same page.
