Anyone running this carb setup?
« on: July 24, 2006, 09:20:42 AM »
Tomorrow, I am taking my bike to the local Honda Tech to have my carbs synched.... finally.... it has been two weeks without my ride... my carbs may have seen better days so I am possibly looking into new carbs.  I have been shopping around for some different carb options and ProTeal mentioned this product.  Is anyone on this forum running these beauties: http://www.cyclexchange.net/Carb%20System%20Comp%20Page.htm

I want to get those myself. If you get em, let us know how they work. No one here has commented on their effectiveness yet.
No.

Everyone I have ever heard of running those things love them.
It makes sense, as two carbs would work out better than 4, as far as tuning, maintenance, issues, etc... I would love to do them , but I cant get past the cost, atleast for this bike....

Yeah, if my bike isn't running well after the carb synch, I will order those carbs.  Really, the price is fair considering the following:
1. Two VM34 mm Mikuni carbs (prejetted) = $199.60
2. Special cast alloy manifolds = $???? ($180)
3. Motion Pro turbo throttle = $22.00
4. Motion Pro throttle cable = $15.00
5. Velocity stacks = $35.00
6. Carb rubbers and stainless clamps = $26.00
7. Extra jets = $20.00

Total price =$317.60 (without the alloy manifolds included in the total)

The kit price is $499.00

I was under the impression the kit was allot more than that.
For that price, I might look into them in the near future, but let u buy them first and
see how they work  ;D

...bunch of guys on hondachopper.com run these carbs and love them.  Only problem I've ever heard of anyone having is if your bike is not in top running condition, then these carbs won't make it run better.  Also I think Ken recommends you run electronic ignition with the carb setup.  Ken is a cool dude, and has tons of knowledge.  He was working on these mills when I was in the crib.  Give him a call if you have any questions.  Hes a busy guy, but you leave a number and he'll call you back....

I was wondering if anyone has come across this type of set up - but for a CB550?
Or any other interesting carb set ups that could be used for 550.

You 750 guys get all the good stuff. :-\
