Can someone explain what the real world benefit of being tubeless is? Just curious. Do the wheels balance out better? Along those lines have you guys used the liquid tire balance that the motorcycle stores sell so you don't have ugly wheel weights?

Less unsprung weight, tubeless tires very rarely, if ever blow out like tubed tires, so if you are going to get a flat while riding  the tire will go down slowly.

My biggest reason for going tubeless would be the ability to install a plug to get me home when I am in BFE.

I agree, I have been stuck twice in he middle of nowhere. That is why i would consider it. I am still not so sure about our rims holding the bead.

the DID wheels don't have much of a rim lip.. attractive as it is , i wouldn't risk it.

Excel for me too, i did some searching yesterday on this product and there's lots of guys using it and loving it, and other tubeless methods, there's also lots of detractors but , so far, none of them have used it. For those not inclined to use it due to the fact our rims aren't meant for tubeless tires, there are already piles of people on the forum and elsewhere using tubeless tires on our bikes with tubes, haven't heard one instance yet of a tire failing because of the rims....Anyone..?

I am thinking... That the layers built up...in the middle.. Form a sorta lip, that may hold the tire on same as a machined groove..

I've gone tubeless on bicycles (cars and modern motorcycles too), and found the tires to roll better, eliminate pinch flats, and provide better feedback. The feedback issue is even more pronounced on road bicycles due to reduction in tire vs tube rubbing. Acceleration and handling is MUCH better due to the reduced rotating mass. The acceleration and handling changes aren't minor either.

I think the issue here is not tubeless or tube but bias ply tires vs radial. The older bias ply tires were hard and when you roll into a corner they tended to be slippery vs the radial that gives a little and provides greater traction in low corner.  I love radials.    Safety issue as for tubeless laced wheels just throw a tube in a tubeless tire

I emailed tubliss to know why they are not for street bike and here what their answer,

''The main reason is that they are not DOT approved & we do not want the added liability that comes with on-road use. However we are working on a NEW system that we hope to get DOT on. If things go as planned we should have this by the end of 2013 & would ask that you please check back at that time if you still have an interest''
