So....that's where you been.  Just read your thread, bike is looking great.  Guessing you painted the tank and side covers yourself, silver looks great.

I was looking hard for an H1, found one local, but for $2300, needed too much money put in it to get it where i would want it. Found a '69 in UT, but sold before I could close the deal. Then saw another listed locally on CL but when I called, the bike was in Washington, WTF?? And the seller was a dickhead. Found something else...

Thanks!
I was going to paint myself but a friend offered to do the tank, fender, sides, headlight hub, tail and swing arm for $200.00  too good of a deal and time saver.   Stev-O  i picked this one up in rough shape, but running with a title for $1050.00   I will have about 4k in it when done and should be ok on resale.

I have a painter buddy too, I prefer to let him do it since I don't have a booth. He charged me $250 for my last tank and covers, including filling a few small dents.

That one must have been profoundly expensive, Stev-o.

Actually, not really. The seller contacted Toytuff through his "vintage bikes wanted" CL ad. The seller had a CL95 and the H1 and was asking $2500 each, both were non runners but looked good in the pics. Then the seller raised the price to $3K which pissed off tt, so he passed it off to me knowing I was interested.
Emailed the guy (no phone number) and by the time I heard back it was sold.  It's ok, I found a different bike, details to come.

Well  the engine is almost done,  had to bore the cylinders and rebuild the trans.  Wheels are done, the swing arm is installed. its almost a roller. Polishing out the rear brake hub and its ready to install.

In the mean time we sold our house and are going to build on our wooded lot (THIS MEANS EVENTUALLY AN OUT BUILDING!!!!!!)   So things are a little crazy.  Im losing my position at work but was hoping to go part time to open shop for bike repair, buy, sell, restore etc.....  anyway.

Thanks for asking!!!

Best of both worlds ! ;D
My 1972 Honda I bought new and my Dads Kwaka 1970 H1 that he left me,   in the 70's we had some great drags and rides together, apart from the colour it is totally original, he just soaked it in armourall and it sat in the shed for 30 years until he passed away.   That kwaka is an animal, goes like stink but has no brakes..........great bike. ;D ;D ;D
