KK....good point. I guess I never thought about it that way. I'm sure ebay archives would give me all the values I need. It's really not all that important as I intend to keep it for quite a while. Don't worry......I want to keep my new baby too! I always enjoy the learning curve that goes along with a different type of machine. I'm sure I'll have this thing tackled soon.

If any of you are interested in checking out my other machines then you can look at my new gallery that I just put up courtesy of SOHC4.

regarding the year....I believe it is likely a 70-71. Someone likely wanted aluminum wheels (less mainenance...safer...etc) and the older sidecovers and changed them out. The sidecovers look like new withno cracks or even a hint of aging whereas the tank definitely shows fading. I do intend to change out the wheels if I find a decent set. The mags just seem to take away from the classic look of the bike to me.

Hondaman.....The electronic box came from some outfit in California if my memory serves me well. (the bike is over at my workshop) I'll update you on its manufacturer after I get a chance to check it out Friday.

Thanks again to everyone!

Alan

Oh yeah...the exhaust. I believe the glass packs in the end of the exhaust are the type that are "exiting in a small-diameter vertical bar" as you said. The exhaust is at least a 9 out of 10 by the way. Very minimal wear shown and VERY surprising lack of even surface rust!!! I had thoughts of custom exhaust, but maybe that was nuts???
