Q: 1975 CB750K engine parts finish
« on: July 28, 2006, 12:30:50 PM »
Hi,

I want to polish engine parts such as alternator cover, gear box cover, and sprocket cover. Are they polished aluminum or chrome plated?
I polished cylinder head cover (which is bare aluminum, I believe) with aluminum polishing componds and got great result.
I want to do the same with the rest but I want to make sure they are also bare aluminum not chrome plated.
I did a search and found one thread talking about this but it's not clear the parts are either bare aluminum or chrome plated.

Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge, the only chrome plated parts on the engine itself were the starter motor cover and points cover.

And clutch cover.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.
