Powderman, buke looks Super Deluxe  8)

Buke? Puke? I'm confused............... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Tablet eh? I'm not much into high tech, but my wife is. The other day I asked her to pass me the newspaper and she said, "You old Dinosaur, no-one reads newspapers anymore, check this out!" and she passed me her tablet. She was right too, that spider on the wall didn't see it coming! ;D

I'm with you buddy. I'd love to have a CR750 only if I could park it next to my XR750 which is parked next to the XRTT750.

The XR 750 is the best looking Harley ever made, IMHO. I fell in love after seeing it on the cover of a magazine back in the day.

No, it's not just you Frank, I fell in love with XR750's when I saw Evel Kneivel jumping over cars and buses with them. (and occasionally into them...........) A big V Twin with the power of a Ducati but with the reliability and simplicity of a Harley is a wonderful thing! ;D

So I go to put the chain on tonight only to find that with the 23T sprocket the chain hits the boss where the lower cover dowel pin is. I am going to have to grind some clearance there.

Probably a stupid question mate, but is that sprocket on the right way around mate? it looks like it could be offset a few mm's? Cheers, Terry. ;D

I changed all the original barb fittings over to AN fittings for the oil lines because it is a more mechanical and cleaner looking setup than hose clamps and easier to remove and install. That and they just plain  look cool. I hear they are worth 10hp and 4mph. ;D

The gas lines are Braided Steel Teflon with snap clamps that worked nicely.

Shortened shift lever. Feels right but won't know till I try it with the race boots on:

Reset the rear intake manifold angle to bring that carb in tighter to the bike:

If it's not one thing, it's another. I have to replace the steering stabilizer with one with a shorter body. This one bottoms the stabilizer before they hit the fork stops:

Go over to DTT and in the project thread look for the build thread of Ichiban Moto where he explains how the colored zip ties are much stronger than the white ones. All I need is to change to one of my blue or black ones and I'll be fine. This stabilizer only has about 4" of stroke, I think I need more stroke (don't we all ;D), so I'm not sure swiveling the clamp will fix it but I'll check tomorrow.

Sounds lke it has to move inward..less radius means it moves less distance..

You need a hammertone zip strap..

The fork itself moves more than 4"s in it's arc so no matter where the clamp is the shaft itself can't move through the body sufficiently.
I'm looking at this damper that has a 5.5" stroke, should fix it:

Your fork moves 4 inches but how far does the steering stop move.. Think about that..

I don't know what you mean. The steering stop doesn't move.

Think of a stock lower tree, or just draw it on paper.
The fork tube is a greater distance from pivot, than the steering stop nub..
So..then moving the tree in the same arc, the smaller radius feature moves less distance than the one with the larger radius.
That is why n some Honda trees there is a damper mount built in....inboard of the fork tube..

I see where if the rod on the clamp was on the inside of the fork it would have smaller radius than if it were on the outside of the fork. I don't think it will make enough of a difference in this case. My fork stops are internal inside the neck of the frame and on the steering stem itself.
