It's still coming along. I've taken a day job as the night manager of the new O'Reilly Auto Parts store as wells running my powder coating so time is at a shortage. Hoping to make the spring event at Ohio

I'm working on borrowing a hand held starter from Benton Racing in my area to get mine fired. I just secured my spot as Crew Chief again on the Metro at Bonneville. We have a dual 1160 4bbl set up replacing the record setting 850 Demon carb we had been running. He has also built a Chevy S-10 Xtreme for a different class record attempt.
We are at 265 mph with the record now in the Metro. Searching for 300mph which I knew was a stretch with the motor we had. Looking forward to see what the dual carb set up all do.

Well now that Bonneville is out of the way before we started again, I can concentrate on my next projects. I secured the rights to the 1970 Triumph Tiger 650 and the 1959 Norton Manx with the Kawasaki H2 750 motor in it. I am now making arrangements to have them transported to me in Ga. from Palmdale, Ca. I will immediately restore both of these bikes. The Triumph holds sentimental value to me so it will be my DD and the KawaTon, well what can I say, I think it is a one of a kind until I'm shown differently. I was having a conversation to day about it with a customer and he told me he thought Reg Pridmore had a Manx with an H1 in it. It turns out Reg did try and make one work in 1969 for a race at Brands Hatch but had issues in practice and withdrew from the race.

When I totaled my H1 in 75 I built a go kart with that engine. It was scary fast for a cart back then.

I read the brand off the front caliper and it is a Lockheed, not sure what the rear is:

Front is definitely Lockheed, rear looked too small..

Brought the bikes home after driving out west Dec.28 and then back New years day. Already started on the Kimtab swap because I had parts to work with before I took possession of the bikes.
This swap is coming along nicely, it's everything I pictured in my mind. Better looks, less weight, less unsprung weight, better braking. Fresh paint on the fenders and this thing will look sweet.

Set of kimtabs on ebay right now..setup for Triumph I believe..and a Ceriani GP fork..

Damn they went for 580.00 setup for Triumph 3 discs and a sprocket mounted.. Both wheels

It will be long wait..........something akin to this thread

.......but for XR lovers............XR750 iron head #1 ..........as in Serial No. "1" is in my friend's garage (been there since the original engineering was track-test when he was a junior engineer at H.D.) and is now being re-assembled to prepare for funding his retirement

.........Look for it at the Las Vegas auctions in January of 2017.

Powderman..............I am confident you will get your XR to the run-way in Wilmington...........make sure the brakes are good

Whenever Mert complained about not having enough power to win............it was usually attributed to a lack of a full twist of the throttle.

XR 1327, no you didn't miss the wrap up. It's stalled with a few ends to tie up. I had to work my project plans around and had to go to Calif at the first of the year to recover the bikes while it was convenient to do so or wait until after July for an undetermined method or cost to get them here.

I must have missed them, where were they listed? As far as I know I'm thinly one that has had a Kimtab listed on Ebay for a week now and have checked progress everyday, never saw any others. That was cheap for that set up.
I don't see that listing in Completed Auctions, I'm calling BS.
