Well Dave, I agree somewhat. The only thing I will say, and I understand where you're coming from, is the fashion statement thing. I guess it is a fashion statement in a sense. I feel like a million dollars when I ride mine because of how nice it looks and all the work I put into it. I'm a self proclaimed "motorcycle metrosexual". I will cuff my jeans and wear an open face helmet. You won't find me on my cb with a modern looking lid. I didn't "cafe" my 550 because I want it to look like it was meant to. Bars are always a personal choice. Unless liking the way clubmans feel is being cafe, than I surely am not. My pegs are in the stock location and I still have my banana seat. Most people who see it say "Oh why don't you cafe it?" and I just shrug. Down the road though I was seriously contemplating building a 550 with very minimal electrics and an engine worked as far as I can afford. Again though, I have loved these bikes since my uncle parked one in my garage when I was about 2. WAY before the new Cafe Craze. I'm 28 now so that's a long time of loving. Anyway for fun the whole argument kind of reminds me of this:
