Metric Motorbike
« on: May 14, 2013, 06:21:56 AM »
I've been having trouble getting in contact with the Metric Motorbike guy--can anyone vouch for the shop?

We exchanged emails, I've showed up a few times, and I called. Eventually he just stopped responding (he may have been busy, but his unresponsiveness worried me). I just need someone in Portland who can do a few things to my bike I'm not comfortable doing myself the first time around.

I can't help you with much information for Maine, but what are you trying to do to the bike?

There is a member named Anders in NH. He is making the charging system upgrade kits, but i think he does all types of repairs.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

That he does Bobby.

Karate, there are a ton of us local (MA, NH, VT) guys and girls that go to him for everything from tire changes to engine work to the alternator upgrade mentioned.

Is this the user in question? http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?action=profile;u=17807

If so, I'll have to drop him a line!

That's the one. PM me for his email address if you decide to go that route.

Hey guys - just signed up here, and haven't done the formal intro yet, but this is JD from PanikSwitch Cycles, mentioned above. We're also working on a "universal charging system upgrade" as well, here in the Hermon/Bangor area. We just did a 73 CB450 upgrade, using a more common Suzuki GS1100 rec/reg...instead of the puny 12 v output, she now puts out 13.5v. I just picked up a pair of 74 CB550's myself, and will be working on a wiring diagram for the same upgrade for the 74-77's. As soon as I find a supplier for decently priced reg/rec's and the proper connectors, I'll start making a few up for sale. Feel free to email us with any questions or tips (info@panikswitchcycles.com).

Also, thanks a million for the recommendation "wowbagger"...it means a lot when we see people putting our name in the same sentence as "top notch"!!

Cheap, quick or good. You pick 2. Not 3. Only the wife gets all 3.
