Cramp Buster!!
« on: May 16, 2005, 07:23:00 pm »
Guys:

Call me a sissy, but I have to admit that on long rides my throttle hand gets pretty worn out.

Have you ever tried one of these?

I'd look at a "cruise control" but the roads here are way too busy for that -- in five years I've prolly used the CC in my car about 10 times.

Anyone?

I have one - its good. Pretty soon you forget its there. At this stage you should take it off and wow! you really feel the difference. I recommend it.

I have one and like it a lot. Like Harry said...soon you forget it's there. But...$13, I'd look around a little more. When I bought mine 3 years ago I felt I was overpaying at $8...steep for a small piece of plastic. However, now I feel it was money well spent.

You can get these from jc whitney for $8.95, catalog Item #AGS265362, Ithink I am going to get one,not because my hand gets tired, but my fingers tend to fall asleep and get tht tingly sensation. Anyone else have this happen to them?

A lot of times, hand/finger numbness is caused by handlebar vibration.  Check to make sure all your motor mounts are tight, and consider getting some bar end weights or switching to bar end mirrors to dampen the vibration.

Either that, or don't hold on so tight!  ;)

I bought some large diameter grips, and the little extra mechanical advantage really helped too.
Hey Einyodeler, is the bike in the pic lowerd or modified? It looks agressive....

Check out the Throttle Rocker @ www.throttlerocker.com.  I bought one this winter and so far like it.  The new model attaches with a velcro adjustment rather than just the tension of the plastic.  Plus it is ten bucks with free shipping.  You can't beat that.

Did somebody mention ass cramping?  Two words;  Sheep. Skin. I use it all the time. Spend the money on good stuff and you'll never look back. Cooler in summer, warmer in cool weather, a good nap holds up for ever. I got mine from Alaska Leather. Worth every penny.

Now if I could just find something to keep my ass from cramping, I'd be all set!
