I moved to the country to escape the tornado induced poorhouse in the form of Joplins rebuilding and recouping of revenue. For nearly 2 years since our 2011 tornado I took it in the ass with utility and tax increases to the point moving forward just wasnt possible. Country life is only 1/3 of the cost compared to the monopoly of utilities and city council members.
I had the only surviving house and vehicle in my family although we lost chunks of roof and window glass, which was fortunate since beginning a block to the south was leveled.
On an ironic note, the wife tries to reassure me that the chances of getting hit by another tornado where we rebuilt/repaired are so astronomical that we will be safe......But my dear wife that was in the city calculating those odds. Then we moved therefor we get a fresh set of odds to gamble with.

And us running across the valley last week to the tornado shelter indicates mother nature is playing with better odds than us. Boats
