It is common to have SOME corrosion on the main jet tube.  It will only matter if it extends pass the main jet o-ring and compromises the seal.  As a general rule, if you can't see the o-ring it is probably ok.  All rules have exceptions though and you need to inspect everything.

So had a minute to get into the carbs this evening.
Mainjet=115
Pilot=40

I have a bag of carb parts from the po and in it I found 5 100 mainjets and 3 98 mainjets???????

I'll pull the O-ring y'all were talking about tomorrow and check them out.

So, If i am running rich, The mainjets are my problem? Makes sense to me.

Attached are images of the #3 carb... I can see the rubber on the main jet....

Thanks again

Patrick

Not good!  either replace the body or get it mircro welded .  One person I know of who does the latter is forum member Jim French...Larry

Wow, from the earlier picture it looked like the breakage wasn't significant enough to expose the o-ring, but this is pretty bad.  Since you have the spare, the cheapest/quickest/easiest way might be just swapping them......

Another unfortunate turn of events.... My other vehicle is down now!!!! Radiator is old and sprung a leak... Pulling in tonight. hopefully can repair, but i am not optimistic.

So, got to get the bike running for work next week. Hopefully, get this radiator problem sorted out.

Harisuluv informed me that I have a #2 and a #4 Carb, so we will be trading my #4 for his #3 next weekend.

Ya'll have been a great help,
Hope I can return the favor some day.

Harisuluv is the MAN! He's sure got lots of the carbs. So does Bill Benton.
See SOHC4shop.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

Blood is thicker than water, but motor oil is thicker yet...so, don't mess with my SOHC4, or I might have to hurt you.
