Disconnect the stator and start the motor, then read voltage ouput across the yellow wires.  That is the best way to ascertain or eliminate the stator output...Larry

Should the voltage directly off the stator read in the 13ish range?

Haven't had a chance to check it, just checking to make sure that's what it should read

Ok,  so two of my carbs started overflowing the other day when I ran it which I don't understand.  It has to be my floats.

My floats are set up like this currently:



They measure at spec at the bottom but obviously much higher at the other end.  This would cause the float valve to always be open yes?

This is what they should look like? To spec all the way across?

Got a few parts polished up and got my DSS order in so the caliper is powdered and all rebuillt.  I'm waiting on my slingshot cycles order to come in now with lines (ordered same day as DSS, shipped today  >:( )  .  I'll have some pics up tomorrow with the rebuilt caliper and some polished bits.  Also have a set of side covers coming in from Z1.  Anyone know of a common Duplicolor or equivalent rattle can color that's close to the Honda blue?

Anyone have any thoughts on the floats? I want to get them out and fix them so I'm not overflowing while I check some electrical bits and do some cam chain tensioning.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they were upside down because the PO was not the most 'with it' guy I've met. I thought I've seen other pictures of them in this orientation though. I'll have to look again

I haven't been able to find any pics that disagree with my orientation of the floats.  They look similar to firgure 6.3 here:

but in the exploded view they look entirely different all together.  In a few other builds they seem to be oriented like mine are as well.

Well I'm going to have to take them out to adjust the float heights anyway so I'll take an actual pic and see if we're on the same page or not  8)

I got my new brake lines installed yesterday and will be bleeding them today.  I have to say I'm not all that impressed with the sling shot cycles brake lines.  The hard pipe fitment wasn't great, had to re-bend quite alot and it's still too long for the lower line grommet to sit in the holder on the fender.  The upper line was about 6 inches shorter than my stock line (I checked stock bars on the order).  Luckily I have some low swept mx bars that I'll be running and they do fit at least marginally better with those on (the angle from the master cylinder isn't sharp enough and the upper line rubs on the top triple tree).  Pics to come.
