Topic: replace fork gators with dust seal/wiper

I have a 76 550k and i want to replace the fork gators with a newer style fork seal cover. Ive seen them on some cb's but not sure if it was a 550. I know that certain models of the 750 have them, but not sure if there the same fork lower. Does anybody have this setup and can point me to where to buy them?

I have done that on my 500, Honda dealerships can still get them for you.
Cost about 30 bucks each as I recall.

I had those dust caps on my '78 750.  I replaced them with gators (go figure...).  One of mine was all split and would be no good to you though.

I'm pretty sure the fork legs are basically the same on the 750 and 500 but the experts will no doubt appear soon enough for a definite answer.

I would think that the easiest thing to do would be to try to order some from your local Honda dealer for a '78 750.  I wouldn't expect they would be too expensive.

the 400 also had dust covers, maybe they are nearer your 550 tube size.

 check the tubes under the gaitors before ordering though, I've seen a lot of them get rusty under there.

But gaiters are so.... classic looking! I wish my 650 had them.
