got the pressed-in jets out of the carbs...
« on: August 04, 2006, 06:34:21 AM »
got those pesky jets out... ended up not being that hard once i figured out that the furthur down you grab them, the easier they're going to come out.

i've got them soaking in carb cleaner - but i want to put get them into something more effective.  anyone in ontario or even in the hamilton area know where i can get some carb dip?

should i be manually forcing wire or something through the jets? what should i use?

I like Yamaha combustion chamber cleaner.  Any Yamaha shop should have it if you ask.

...I use the chem dip from autozone.  I have two cans of it.  The first is the "pre-wash"...its the dirty can where I dip carb bodies that are in need of serious overhaul.  After that I clean them up with my favorite degreser and soapy water.  Then they go to the "clean" can of chem dip for a few days, then the same treatment of soapy water to get the glaze off them, at this point they should be ready to go.  I've had good results with this process...
