cb550f parts on k
« on: July 04, 2013, 04:51:23 PM »
Ok, I have a cb550 everything is f but the frame is a k. I want to run the stock 4-1 header. I have already torn down the frame and motor so I can't check for myself at the moment about some things.

Does the header hit the k peg?

Will the f kick start keep it from hitting the header?

If the f kick start works will it hit the k peg?

Lastly if it does hit the k peg will a f peg work?

Edit: One more, are the f brake pedal and peg physically in different positions on the f frame?

I saw a picture but can't tell but it looks like only the peg is in a different spot on the frame meaning I can weld a new bolt to the frame. With the brake I can extend the brake tube mount and it should work?

77/78 K frame is totally different I think the up to 76 K is same as F but not 100% sure

theres two frames on 500/550s,,the early or first 550s were the same frame as 500s,different forks/instruments and whatever but the frame is the same, the later k and f have the same frames, but different exhaust and mudguard stays etc,the super sport or f has an oddball brake pedal to clear the pipes, and right hand peg and a kicker to clear it.

Hmm I thought the k frames had the foot peg mounted in a different place than the f. Anyone have a picture of the later model k frame where the right foot peg would be?
