Electrical question... Neutral indicator light stays on!
« on: August 06, 2006, 07:56:35 PM »
My neutral indicator light stays on constantly.  In gear it gets somewhat more dim in gear, then brightens up when in neutral.  Any thoughts?

the switch should short to ground I think. either yo have a bad switch, a short in the wire, or possibly some kind of contaminated connection allowing current to flow. dissconnecting the switch lead should kill the light. If it does the problem is the switch, otherwise it will be between that connection and the light.

my indicator light was doing the same thing...always on but brighter in neutral.  i could not identify any "shorts" or bad grounds in the wiring.

i just bought a replacement switch on ebay, installed it, now it works perfectly.

Chop the bike and remove the gauges.
