72 CB 750 brake line pipe question
« on: July 28, 2013, 05:09:24 PM »
Hey Guys,

I need to get a new brake line pipe for my bike, and I'm finding that there are 2 different part numbers:

45128-300-010

and

45128-341-670

From what I can  tell, the bend is slightly different between the two, but I don't have an original to compare to, so I'm not sure which I need, or if it even matters?  Thought I'd check if anyone happened to know?

Thanks!

Where are you finding this ? what bike is it ? what year is it ?

Watch the part list manual, take the partlist number and you'll be pleased.
Please ! Take a look and give me feedback in my project thread, its much needed :)

Actually, both brake line part numbers you posted are correct for a 750 K2. The difference depends on your frame number as there was a brake caliper bracket & pin design change during K2 production.

45128-300-010 is used on the 750 K0/K1 and K2 ending at frame number: CB750-2093730

45128-341-670 is used on frame number beginning with CB750-2093731 and continues until the end of K6 production.

In other words ...

If you have the earlier style caliper bracket & pin: (1 and 2 in the diagram below), then use: 45128-300-010

If you have the later style caliper bracket & pin: (1-1 and 2-1 in the diagram below), then use: 45128-341-670

Usually when you see those part numbers 300 is for early bikes, pre 72 and 341 for later bikes or like you a model year change during production.

Awesome thanks guys.

Appreciate the detailed response Dream, that's exactly what I needed.  I definitely have the old bracket (1 and 2 in the diagram), really appreciate pointing that out, now I can order without worry.

Thanks ekpent, I did not know that about the part numbers.  That should be helpful in the future.

Thanks again guys!
