JJ Cale
« on: July 29, 2013, 03:31:04 PM »
JJ Cale is no longer with us, he was a musical genius that wrote songs, right up until his death a couple of days ago, for some of the biggest names of the 70's through to now....  RIP JJ  ...

R.I.P. JJ, he's was one of the best. It seems when we lose these musical talents, nothing can replace them. I don't have much enthusiasm for today's music industry. I will forever miss Zappa, Bob Marley, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye etc etc..... I can go on and on. Although talents such as Jack White and Dave Grohl give me hope.
its better to regret something you have done, than something you havent.Except playing with explosives.

Big loss.  Every album he did was good, at least the ones I had on my drive. I never got to see him live, bummer.

I think I missed him in Tulsa about a year or two ago. Only a 90 minute drive, I must have been broke.

His last solo album was awesome.  Road to Escondido he had a  premonition.

I'm well over 60, older than most  won't be long now I'll be nothin' but ghost..

The Tulsa guys from that era are thinning out pretty good. Leon Russell is still around but getting around does not look too easy for him. RIP

I have two, a Rega and VPI. I haven't used the VPI much since I put my newly acquired Shure cartridge with the new JICO stylus on it.
The lift lever does not give enough lift to clear the record and I don't want to cue it up by hand until I get my 0.3mm allen wrench to adjust it.
