  • So, what do ya wanna talk about today?
G'Day Steve, it's a 1987 Yamaha FZR1000. I've wanted one for a long time, this one is a little rough around the edges and is not the original color, but the engine is good and the price is right and the owner is not in a rush to sell it, so if I can finish the FJ1200 and get it sold quickly I might make enough to buy it and take it back to original.

The only problem is that it's a typical sports bike of the era, with low bars and high pegs and I'm a fat old man with a bad back and knees, so I'm weighing up the benefits vs the disadvantages. The FJ1200 is an original paint "survivor", a much more user-friendly beast with tons of grunt, and (apart from the front brakes pissing me off at the moment) is probably more suitable for my needs, but the "Fizzer" with it's 5 valves per cylinder complexity and race proven power and handling is very tempting.......... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
