1977 CB750K reproduction exhaust
« on: August 14, 2013, 02:27:29 PM »
Hey ya'll,I have an all original 1977 CB750K.I have had the bike for years and besides the exhaust it is in perfect shape. The exhaust has pitted from an old re-chrome,has a few dings from drops and bumps over the years and is starting to split underneath.I ride the bike all the time and am thinking of taking the plunge.I have seen the repo exhaust in the past for 1000 bucks.I don't know that much about them.Has anyone bought any of these? Are they worth the money?I do enter the bike in a show occasionally, are they close enough to look original? Also thinking of getting some Hagon shocks to improve the ride over the 36 year old ones currently on the bike.I'm past all the hauling ass and hard riding and would just like a smoother ride.I ride 2 up with my wife quite a bit, about 300 lbs combined.I would like to keep the look as factory as possible.Do you think the Hagons are worth the cost?Which should I get if I go Hagon? Are there better options for my type of riding? Thank you all in advance. This is a great forum and I have learned a lot just reading the posts.

If you enter your bike in shows then I would buy the new exhausts
You do not want to be marked down after all of your efforts and travel.

Now sit before you call to buy a $1000. will get you one side if your lucky. I would love to have a set. But had to be realistic and keep my four into two. good throaty deep sound baffles on both sides.

No, I was talking about the sets on e-bay for 1000.00 plus 100 to ship. They look like the originals.Thats what I was wondering about. Also anyone familiar with Hagon shocks? That's another thing I'm thinking of as an upgrade.

They look pretty good. I would ask if you could return it if not fully satisfied.

I have two used sets if you are interested, but not show quality.

Hagen shocks are very good. I would call them and see which model they recommend for your bike and riding style.

Icons are very good as well. (Koni)

They are OEM. That is to say, they are not Honda parts, but they come from the same factory that made the original mufflers. The price is not bad at all. Before they were reproduced, you could easily dish out more than $ 2,000 for an original set. By the way: the very first sets were not stamped like the newer sets. Honda changed them to comply with regulations. So there are two different Honda exhausts as it is (stamped and unstamped).

At last now available, and in stock complete replacement Honda K7 and K8 four silencer exhausts systems. These are OEM parts, engineered by an original supplier to Honda, so the usual high Honda manufacturing tolerances and quality of finish are maintained.

Internal baffling is altered slightly in line with modern practices, to improve baffling systems that exceed or maintain original performance, but also ensure noise levels are acceptable. These are cosmetically perfect

Thumbs up on the Koni replicas. They are contemporary and don't ruin the original appearance. I have the last generations of the original Konis myself (progressive springs, numbered adjuster wheel on top for fine adjustment).

You won't regret it. You can get new genuine Honda brackets cheap too if needed (I send you links if required). Don't forget to get new gaskets. And while you at it, replace the eight nuts, flange, 8mm (Honda part # 94050-08000) for a few $. You don't want to use worn ones on this beautiful exhaust.
Finally, it would be great to see some pics of your bike after installation.

Here's the link   http://stores.ebay.com/Northeast-Vintage-Cycle/Exhaust-/_i.html?_fsub=4&_nkw=honda+cb750+exhaustsize]

That link does not show the set you are talking about or any set.

Edit the other link worked Thanks.
