took Baby for ride last evening. put the final mileage on her for the 500 mile oil change and tire break in period.
at times she felt underpoweredwhile at others she seemed to have plenty on tap. every once in awhile she sounded like she had a noisy engine, but most of the trip was smooth and quiet as a sewing machine. she came out at 46 miles to gallon with the full windjammer and my 300 pounds running 65 mph most of the way.
in the barn now for full tune up and oil change and prep for winter projects like the hydro clutch and fix a leak at rear master banjo and hopefully finish the oil cooler install.
anyone know where i might be able to obtain a 6x6x1/2 chunk of scrap aluminum?
tune up willl be new everything......plugs, wires, points, condensors, air and oil filter, etc. these points im pretty sure are the factory originals, i pulled em when i bought here in favor of electronic which failed me for last time.plugs are some old ones i modded for side gap firing. havnt decided on platinum or regular ngk. wires are old and so is the air filter (very dirty K&N)
also will run the valves and check cam chain adjustment. overall im happy with the 3 years its been so far getting her to this point. now if i can ever find time to do all the bodywork and get her painted.
