Camping gear - sleeping bags
« on: September 30, 2013, 12:11:19 PM »
Looking to upgrade  my  sleeping bag  for motorcycle camping .    Looking for some suggestions  and what others are using.   Im in Pennsylvania ,  so we do have some real 3 season weather during ridding season.   Looking at bags for the spring and fall months.    In the heat of  july and august i just bring a lightweight blacket.    I'm  looking at  rectangle and semi-rectange bags ,  no mummies.   less than $200 or there about,   and  preferably  down filled since it's the most compressable,  but not positive since it does poorly when wet.    my 2 choices  so far seem to be Cabela's XPG escapist  and Kelty Coromell.

So what are you campers strapping to your bike ???

I have a TNF Dolomite 2S for 'car' camping.
I have a TNF Cats Meow(mummy bag) for backpacking/compressability(just as much as down)
IME, synthetic dries out much faster than down.

EMS Velocity 35 sleeping bag, 3 season, synthetic, compresses down to 9` x 5` (loaf of bread size) and everyone who has seen it has commented how small it is when compressed. Fits in the tank bag no problem. I have had mine for 12 yrs and will buy it again.
