1978 750F Dipstick

 Happily reading my owners manual late last night ( get a life says teenage son),  I noticed the pic of the dipstick is different than what is in my oiltank. My concern is not originality, but that the tank oil levels could be incorrect.
 Could I bother someone with a 75-78 750F or a 77-78 750K to measure their dipstick? The one I have is  2 1/2" (65mm) from the  the underside of the cap to the fill mark and from the underside of the cap to the add mark is 4 5/8" (117mm).

The one you have looks just like the dipstick on my 79 CB650.

thats curious  ???  just checked the Honda service manual and see the same image as in the owners manual - short gussets between the underside of the cap and the stick. The parts fiche shows the same for the 78F.

Hey Lake...
I have a 77 and it has a grey plastic dipstick like shown in the fische...
I can check the measurments for you if you like.

but, but, but the manuals say....  looks like all of us have incorrect dipsticks ;D ::)
