that sucks man -- any chance on a return?  DCC seems pretty customer-friendly.

reason why they didn't fit and would be cautious of others is the lip on the carb body

Well there is your problem right there. a) as a general rule don't trust anybody that sells emgo pods as someone who knows what they are talking about (because they don't), b) what did you expect for $10 a stack?

Honestly I would call dime city and get a refund. I hope and pray and wish that if enough people complain they will learn that selling cheap crappy parts will squander their reputation but they sell a lifestyle anyway, not real motorcycle parts.

What filters

Stillttime, I don't know you so I won't knock you too hard. Do you like replacing pistons/rings and cylinders often? I sure don't. I ran a 12:1 dual carb'd water cooled motor in an old rabbit race car I built without filters for one track event.. ONE. Had compression issues when I pulled it off the trailer, pulled the head to find sand in the cylinders that got sucked in through the carbs. I still remember the turn where the Audi in front of me hit the dirt leaving a turn and I drove through a light cloud. I'd put maybe 3,000 miles on that motor before I had to rebuild it. Filters are worth their weight in gold when you spend your own time and money on a rebuild. Be sure to post your rebuild thread here so I can laugh at you :)

bottom line! velocity stacks because that are metal won't work on the old carbs because of lip on carb that holds rubber boots on,save your opinions i am just stating a fact.

What do you mean " save your opinion" I have put a few thousand miles on my bike with metal velocity stacks. I have lost zero. Now I am just stating fact.

For 750 K owners who are curious about the performance of velocity stacks, you can use the rubber ones from the stock air box as they fit the carb lip perfectly with the stock clamps. This is a low buck modification from the early days and perhaps a bit archaic. ::)

Wonder what the idea is with that chain wrapped around the carbs Dream, slips it on before heading into the bar ? Could it be gold ?

I'd rock these if I could find a set under $50, for that I'd just buy the dragon ones!

What is wrong with .030 thick.. Racing parts ..supposed to be light.
Looking at the lip how do you expect they could fit..not sure howthe steel dragons fit?

If you are that worried wrap tape either side of the rib to make up the difference.
I ran on the street for years with stacks, on the dirt track a few times.  950 miles to Bonneville and back..and i got to say that motor only went 25 years...coulda got 26.5 ..maybe..

The trick is ..kill engine and coast thru dirt cloud..not stay WFO..

It's a proven fact that dirt and debris in your intake can kill a motor. The fact that a few of you got lucky riding thousands of clean miles it wouldn't take much in the right situation to destroy your motor. Depending on the size of screen in the VS it will filter more or less particles but never as well as a true filter will. You decide if the risk is worth the gain before opting for them.

I've heard stories like yours and it puts hopes in these kids heads that's the cafe racer build they see with no filters is the best way to run.. And they kill a motor. Now go play with your 33 cent triples you jerk! ;D

I am not disputing that filtered air is better for the life of an engine. I was just disputing one of the posters statement of "fact" that you cant put them on these carbs. I run them on the street on an engine that has never been built. I am sure the compression will suffer. I dont care. I am certain it needs to be overhauled anyway.

How do you ride an engine that never been built? Did you install bicycle pedals on your cb? :o

I know, just razzing him :) filter-less intakes will ruin built motors and stock motors all the same.
