What a run this weekend on the 650
« on: August 21, 2006, 01:26:42 PM »
I finally got a chance to do some serious riding this past weekend. I took the bike up to the Muskokas (Ontario) with two buddies, one in a duc 620 monster and the other in an 80's Yamaha Seca 750, and kept up just fine. Put on about 550 km and found some incredible roads along the way.

Sustained highway speeds for long distances- the bike seemed to get stronger and stronger. I just fixed the bike up this past winter after buying it out of prolonged storage. Its probably the first heavy road trip this bike has seen in at least 12 years, maybe ever. I think it did the bike some good.

Damn I love that bike. :'(

That first period is a lot of fun...My exhaust smelled like varnish for the first 500 miles...got quicker every day...then got smoother and smoother!

excellent.

you gotta love that first long run.

i felt the same way about my bike feeling stronger and stronger.  letting it warm up is fine, but 45 minutes into a ride, it's like she really gets into it.
i love babies...
with a nice chianti sauce and a side of fava beans

Just goes to show that these bikes love to be ridden. And their thanks to us for working so long and hard on them is that they just seem to get better and better.

I had a 400km run on the CB650 this past weekend, and I'll have to agree...It really does good for these bikes to be run on the highway. The bike was just running tighter the further I rode it! More response? Yes, please!

Bang on!

Although at times I wish I had a windjammer like yours. ;)

But generally earplugs and a good pair of goggles is good enough for me.

Cheers
