What is the most unique bike you've admired?
« on: October 04, 2013, 10:52:33 AM »
I grew up watching discovery channel's awesome shows like great biker build-off and american chopper. American Chopper has some really cool bikes, but this is the most unique custom bike I've seen so far. Its Indian Larry's Chain of Mystery. Absolutely love the chain frame concept! What do you guys think?

Isn't that the bike he got himself killed on? Even though choppers aren't my thing I did think Indian Larry was an awesome builder but his chain frame idea though creative left a lot to be questioned about it's structural integrity.

I believe so, very unfortunate. He was hardly competitive. He helped out Billy Lane during one of their build off challenges when he saw Billy struggling. Then, he went on to win the challenge but declared that they were no losers, both winners and literally cut the trophy in half on stage. Nothing but respect and admiration for the old guy :)

Me too but I've experienced 2stroke multis, I'd love a 1000 twin stroker if such a thing exists.
Has no-one grafted two 500MX's together for the road?

Read a little about this American built machine (Alabama/Texas) recently in a cycle magazine. Sounds like a real torque monster which is what I like but its pricey  :'(  Better go by a lotto ticket  ;) Not the most maybe I have ever admired yet but I would like to take a spin.  http://thekneeslider.com/motus-introduces-the-production-version-mst-and-mstr-v4-sport-touring-motorcycles/

One of mine is my brother's Kawaton/Norasaki. It's a Kawasaki H2 750 in a Norton Manx frame. He lives in Calif. and has an extensive collection of cars and bikes (CB750, Kawaton, Ferrari, Jaguar, etc) He's a pretty private person with his collection so trying to get him to send me a pic of the Kawaton is like pulling teeth even for me.

Or done it since, including Honda. It wasn't actually called an NR 750 but just an NR. It followed the NR500 that also had oval pistons that were a different design than the piston in the NR. They were insanely expensive to manufacture which was their downfall, the same reason they discontinued the CB400f

I always thought a vincent would be the bike to own. I liked the Honda version, too bad they didn't build it to sell.
