I have only used the one I listed since that other travesty. Maybe the DC one isn't bad at all, maybe look for some feedback about it.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

The feedback on their site has two positive reviews.  I know better than to snag something cheap off a random supplier.  Is there a "Best" option out there most people CB guys are familiar with?

You can look for a Bosch.  I just ordered one the other day from a link within the one below.  You actually get two for the price listed.

Car reflectors. They throw light, but wrong beam pattern. Designed to be used in pairs.

I'll tell you now, the beam from the light in DimeCity link will have a crap spread. I had one with the same reflector arrangement and I couldn't use it at night.

Alright.  What's a better suggestion?

eBay. Get a complete headlight assembly from any SOHC4 500 cc or bigger. The GL1000 Gold Wing ones also work for this.

I bought a new complete headlight and bucket from Fleabay for £25. It's listed for Yam RD/LC but does the job perfectly.

Perhaps this is my answer?

I don't have the light. I have the Hella lamp I posted earlier. I only posted the dcc link because it solves all your problems for a fairly decent price ;)

Don't the halogens suck more power than standard sealed beam? If so, the alternator might not handle it and the heat might do in that bucket full of wires you hydraulically stuffed in there.

Not necessarily in this case.  Bosch makes a few different types.  According to the article the one linked in the ratwell page is for the motorcycle p/n.

Not at all. Honda fitted the later 500 and 550 models for Europe standard with 55/60 Watts Halogen. This charging thing echoes on and on (but only in this forum!). Ride the bike like Honda intended it to ride and you'll have no problem. If you crawl around town a lot, riding it like a Harley, then you might have an issue. Like I mentioned before there's the Philips Ecovision. You'll have the light of a normal 55/60 with 20% less consumption. If you're not afraid for charging, you can go the other way and select their X-treme Vision H4 60/55W

I realize that the OP may have already selected a headlight from another vendor, but since it was brought up about the headlight I mentioned earlier I thought I would reply in case anybody searches for this same info.  I received my headlight today from the link I provided earlier.  The glass is clearly marked DOT and motorcycle.  I purchased the Bosch H4 p/n 0301600118.  As a side note when you order from the link I provided you receive two headlights for the price.  The H4 bulbs are not included so you can purchase which ever one you prefer.

Oh I definitely looked.  However.  My bucked does not accommodate the headlights people are suggesting.  I think I have some old dirt bike bucket.  Gonna go with something newer

That's cool brother.  I wasn't trying to imply you didn't look.  Most of the info I found on how to accomplish something on this site I searched for so if someone stumbles upon this at a later date and it helps them then I am happy.

They clip rim to the sealed beam.
Under the inside of the rim and presses on the back of the light. Which end which I cant remember though.
They are quite strong.

. Gotchya.  Anything to do with the tabs on the outer edge of the bulb?

Nothing to do with the bulb. It is a sealed beam isn't it? No tabs involved, the clips go equidistant around the headlight rim.

I really dont know why no one modifies the original sealed beam to take a standard h4 globe? i mean, we all tinker and maintain these bikes, its part of the fun having a machine this old.

Took a hacksaw blade and ran it round the base of where the globe itself is originally soldered to the bulb housing if you may. its not exactly at bottom, more like 2mm above. get it loose and rip it out. As for the huge bulb left inside of the bulb housing, shake the housing until it breaks and shake the glass out. rinse with warm soapy water and install a new h4 globe using engine gasket sealer. it work 100%. Its way cheaper than finding a replacement. What have you got to loose? ;D
