shes ALMOST on the road. (clutch issues)
« on: October 13, 2013, 09:43:59 AM »
Last night we assembled the bike fully for the first time since i got her. Everything was going well until i hooked up the new clutch cable (old one was broke when i bought it). I tightened it up and gave the lever a pull. Everything feels smooth and tight but the clutch doesnt engage. Any advice from you guys experienced with these bikes? Its a 1978 cb750 k. Thanks for any advice!! Pictures of her on the road soon to come i hope!

Clutches can be tricky but once you've put them together correctly you'll see how easy they really are.

Advise? You have it put together wrong but haven't given us anything to go on. Pictures are better than a thousand words! Perhaps you don't have the adjuster/lever that the cable fits into at the clutch done properly.

The clutch plates can get stuck together if the bike has been sitting for a length of time. If the cable is adjusted properly, try putting the bike in 5th gear and rocking it back and forth with the lever pulled in and see if it frees up.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
