Topic: 78 CB550 oil galley thread size

Hi all,

I am going to install an oil pressure gauge on my CB550 to replace/compliment the idiot light.  I have read the threads on here regarding this but I can't find any information on the thread size of the oil galley cap thread under the points cover where I will be connecting the line for the gauge.

Does anyone know what size this thread is? or where i can get an adapter for this application?

20x1.5mm. I had a couple machined from solid so there was some meat to drill & tap for a fitting. You might find someone on here that could machine something for you.

Ok, great.  Next question, I was also thinking of replacing the dipstick with a gauge thermometer to read oil temperature.  Any idea what the thread size is on the dipstick/oil filler port? I will have an adapter made to fit that thread and drill and tap to take the thermometer and mark the thermometer stem with the oil levels.
