Any of you drink moonshine?  Buddy of mine gave me a half gallon and am interesting in hearing some recipes for it to enhance its flavor, lemon drop or something of that nature.

It'll taste better after the first couple of slugs off the jug... Or go buy you some 40 proof flavored vodka.

Depends on who is making it and what they made it out of.

And if they actually know what they are doing like, have they removed the methanol..?  Going blind or dying ain't much fun. There are plenty of essences you can buy to flavor home made alcohol....

If it doesn't taste right leave it alone.

One of the biggest mistakes people drinking moonshine or any liquor neat is how they take a breath. Take the swig, while it is in your mouth breathe in through your nose, swallow and exhale slowly through your mouth. It makes a big difference in how you will taste liquor in the future

Will give it a try.  Admittedly, I am not a liquor man, I would prefer a beer any day of the week.  I saw how the still was made and am not worried a bit about that.  I just hate the taste of high proof alcohol.

A good looking still doesn't mean much at all, its the fact that methanol is in the first few percent of alcohol taken off the top, if that isn't done properly then its very dangerous to drink, 3 guys died recently here doing just that. I have a friend thats been brewing alcohol and making scotch and bourbon, amongst other types for around 20 years, his moonshine is smoother than a lot of shop bought alcohol...  If its high in percentage then get some water and cut it down then add what ever essence you like to it, use a hydrometer to measure alcohol content...

Yeah you don't want the "heads" or "tails" in the stuff you drink.  I briefly thought about trying to make some, but decided it scared the crap out of me and much enjoy being able to see.
