CB750 Yoshimura 811/812 pistons
« on: December 20, 2013, 07:36:24 PM »
I have a question regarding Yoshimura 812 pistons. The pistons i have look right in every way shape, valve reliefs, 812 and POPY on one side but they dont have the japanese writing on the opposite side of the skirt, from the limited photos i can find they always have the japanese writing which i would guess is "yoshimura" in japanese?

were knock off's of the 812 kit ever made? based on all the cheaping out and corners cut i have found during  disassembly i would be surprised if these were genuine yoshimura 812 pistons

Mine are authentic late '76 purchased directly from Yoshimura by myself. No Japanese symbols in the opposite side.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Wiseco made an 811 kit at one time but as Jerry just stated above his genuine originals sounds like the same as yours.

Can check my 812's but I remember POPY and 812, not Japanese writing  I can recall, Bill.
