750A Carb upgrade
« on: November 28, 2013, 01:26:06 PM »
I've read with much interest the challenges other 750A owners have had with the unique carburetors installed on these bikes.  It seems that people that have install 750F carburetors on the 750A have been happy with the improved performance.  One of the reasons most have stated for the carburetor switch is the unavailability of the 750A manifolds.  My question is this, the 750A carburetors are a little smaller then the 750F carburetors.  What have other owners done in regards to adapting the larger 750F manifolds to the smaller cylinder head manifold intake?

Thanks for any reply's.

The A head is identical to the 75, 76 F and 77, 78 K heads (same part number, too).

Only the carb-end of the "manifold" or "boots" are smaller.  The head-end is the same as the non-auto bikes.

Past bikes - Honda: SL350, CX650C, CB900C, CB1000C, CM450A; Kawasaki: several 1972 750 H2's; Suzuki: TC90J.

Bikes I want: CX650ED, a mid-sized japanese V-twin with ABS.

So according to Kandrtech, can we swap the 750a head with 750k
Head, so it will fit the carb manifold. If its the case, it will be a great
Advantage and economical solution.   ;D

Yep.  The A bikes have lower compression due to the pistons alone.

There's some "hidden" performance available in these motors . . . .  ;)
