Hi guys,
Recently rebuilt my carbs on my '73 CB500. Got the carbs back on the bike and everything was looking good, no leaks. After a few days of the bike sitting while working on clutch, turn the petcock on and carbs are leaking big time from the tops of the bowls. I tapped the bowls thinking the floats were stuck but no luck.
I pulled the bowls to find the gaskets were "wavy" in a few places. I would assume that although "wavy" off the bike, when pressed down they should seal, but maybe not.
As you can probably tell, I used superglue in the corners to help install.
My question is, do you think I could let seals dry out and then glue down the areas in which the deal is flaring up? Or should I just order new shaped seals?
Thoughts/experiences or help would be greatly appreciated
