Topic: Carburator / airbox installation problem. HELP!

Ok, now I had enough.   I seriously need some help here. I have tried to find some kind of solution from this and other forums, but with no luck.

Bike is CB750 -78 with Keihin carbs and original airbox. Engine - carb boots were #$%*, so I got new ones. Now I can't figure out how the hell should I put all that together. I have tried everything but sledgehammer.

If airbox, airbox boots and engine boots are installed to the bike, there is really no enough room to put carbs between them.
If I install airbox to the carbs, and boots to the engine and try to put whole package in, there is still no room. If I would just force carbsand airbox together in, boots or clamps will break.

Does anyone have an idea, IN WHICH ORDER should I put all this together without braking anything???

I do carbs, then air box top, then airbox bottom. Never read it in a manual (never checked), just worked for me.

On the 550F I installed the carbs in the following order, perhaps this will help you on the 750. Intake boots to manifold, then carbs into boots, then airbox (very fiddly and cumbersome to do) and lastly massaged the connecting airbox boots in from the center to the outside carbs. Make sense?

 Well, I managed to push and shove carbs in, using two thin plastic plates protecting boots on both sides.
But now I feel quite stupid. I did not realize that you could put airbox in in two parts. Of course. 

Anyway, thanks guys! Now i'm going try if bike still works...

Just did that with my 1970 CB 750 two times this week

Done with carbs on upper airbox fitted.
Put some vaseline at the boots (to manifold), will slip in quite easy.
Heat the boots with a hairdryer.

But maybe the K0 gives more space airbox-frame  resp. carb - frame as the carb tops remain at the throttle.

Can't figure out why you had so much trouble with this mate.

The airbox, along with it's rubber stacks, can be removed as a complete assembly from the right (kickstart) side of the bike. Disconnect the top breather hose as you waggle it out. The carbs can then be removed easily. I tend to undo the bands on the carbs and leave the inlet rubbers attached to the bike - easier to get them back on that way.
