Tire Chain gap
« on: February 03, 2014, 10:07:33 AM »
I installed a wider wheel rim and a 150/70/17 tire.  The tire clears the chain by maybe 5mm WITHOUT an offset sprocket.  Is that OK guys?

It won't grow any wider, only taller.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

No issue with the cahin. When using a stock rim and a wide tire you will get very fast wear in the center. The tire becomes square.

What bike is it on?
He said he used a wider rim so your info doesn't apply here. What I don't see in the pics is a chain guard, that may have clearance issues.

I believe the black up against the shock spring is the chain guard. Along with what bike it is, what size rim did he use?
