Is this the correct tach (cb550) ????
« on: December 19, 2013, 10:35:36 AM »
Hey folks.  Thanks in advance for any insight.  I've had this tach on my bike ('77 cb550f) since I've owned it (a couple years now).  Rebuilding it has been on my long list of things to work on... because it won't rev past 4k.  I noticed while looking around that folks are selling tachometers for my year/model that redline closer to 10k.

Just want to make sure I have the right tach before I tackle taking it all apart...???

Thanks again!

Nope. 550 redline starts after 9k.

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Hmm...  Thanks.  That's what I was afraid of.  Going to search for a new one.  I believe the correct model for the '77 550 F is the H553-1...?  But would any tach from a 550 work?

All the same ratio.
The tacho on my 77 F2 is supposed to have a blue face like this.
