Can I assume these will work on a CB400f also? That is a pretty good price for new parts.

Not unless you do some switch rewiring....Larry

I assume it would just take identifying which wires on the controls were for which wires on the harness to match them up. They may not be the same colors. but do the same function. I hope that is true because that place doesn't show anything for 400's and I need to  replace both on mine.

Used a piece from a thumb tack and epoxied it in the hole.

It can be done with a schematic and a bit of patience. You are right in that all you need to do is identify the proper harness wires and connect to the switch.  I have put those older prelights-on-all-the-time style controls on a 75 400F

That looks pretty good, the only question is, will it last? As was said, nothing like new switches.

The answer is....It will not last. Worked for about two minutes then broke off.

I'm not giving up yet. The new switch is nice, but free fix is nice too.
