k2-k6 seat in a k8
« on: September 05, 2006, 08:21:27 AM »
Hello.
I would like to change the original k8 seat of my bike for a k2-k6 seat, which is shorter, less wide and with, in my opinion, more classical looking, but, would it fit to the k8 frame (I think the locker is on the opposite side, which could be inverted)? Would it fit to the gas tank or would exist a separation between the seat and tank? Anyone tried this?
Thank you!

The latch and hinges are on opposite sides. You might be able to swap them but it would be touchy as you would need to get things just right. The tank is also probably going to need to be changed. I have not seen the seats side by side but I dont see where the 78 seat is wider. It is thicker and contoured and more comfortable for 2 people.

I had a K8 tank on my K2 bike when purchased.
I switched the mini king and queen seat that was on their to a stock K2 seat and
it fit great with the K8 tank.

Go for it...

Thank you all for quick responses!
Proteal 55: have you got a picture of the k8 tank with the k2 seat? Thank you.

That seat is not a K8 seat. at least not a stock one. That thing was "beefed" up.

Please see what I wrote above. I stated that the pic was NOT with the stock K2 seat, and I would try to find some pics of the bike WITH the seat in question later.
