Hose routing for a CA95
« on: September 05, 2006, 09:41:31 AM »
My CA95 was missing some hoses, so I need so help as to where they go. The manual (original Honda) does not give any help.

There are 3 hoses in question. 1- Breather hose from the top of the valve cover: Does this just go along the frame and point down at the ground like other early Hondas?

2- Air vent on cylinder head next to carb. Does this tap into the small hole in the air filter?

3- The carb overflow hose- points to the ground as well?

Any info will be of great help. Thanks!

Jonesy, you didn't mention the most important hose, but I will come back to that one later.

#1. The hose from the valve/cam box cover rarely emits anything unless you over fill with oil or you have broken piston rings.
This hose can be pushed inside the frame but take it over the air filter element and down almost to the crankcase.                  I
This will stop it messing up your paper filter should anything come out of it. If not long enough, get another.
I run mine into a small plastic catch tank inside the frame (required for racing) but in all its years of use nothing got caught.

#2. Don't push this one into the air filter, it needs to be open and unrestrickted as it allows cooling for the inlet valve guides.

#3. personaly, I dont bother with this one, I would rather be able to see if it was overflowing than having it tucked away and peeing
gas all over the floor. That ones up to you.

#4. The one you didn't mention, the battery breather, get one long enough to almost reach the floor.
You wouldn't belive the number of chromed exhaust I have seen ruined because this one was to short.

Good luck with it and have fun.

Thanks for the help. I knew about the battery one, but I guess I should have mentioned that originally!

So, now my only question is, what is the small hose going to the air filter for?

Your in luck Mr Jones ;D your CA95 has things that our C95 dosn't.
The hole in the filter is for the power air jet hose.
You can locate this jet on the back of your carb, just above the air intake part of the carb.
It makes sence that this extra air jet intake should be filtered.
