Why? Why? Why? Darn lunch break purchases
« on: March 07, 2014, 02:02:56 PM »
Mush bought this today on lunch break. Very nice decent bike original non molested 1975 cb550 f. Needs right side cover. And fresh paint  21xxx miles, new tires, new air filter, new plugs, and new battery. seat is very nice.  exhaust isn't rusted out it's very nice. I couldn't pass this up. I really wanted to start working n my other cb750 but now it's on the back burner again. I picked it up for $800 he was asking $1000 I really didn't want it I thought he would turn the offer down, but when he said yes I was screwed so I had to buy it.

CB550K   ;)
Nice buy.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Forget my wife believing that one (or soon to be in my case) I need to get that FOR her. Tryin to find a smaller (project) bike for her so I can enjoy my to time riding solo.

Thanks for the complements. I gave the bike to my son tonight. I did get to drive it home tonight it ran good. You can tell it hasn't been driven much it needs some carb work. Petcock needs to be taken apart and cleaned it only works on reserve. Those mufflers sound real good on it. There are no markings on them anywhere. My son was real excited when we went to my office to pick it up. Then was extremely excited when I told him "it's yours". He's pretty much going to keep it stock. He said he going to go with LEDs for the turn signals and go with a chrome headlight bucket off a 80's honda.  And that's it. So now I need to go out to my shop and clean up so he can start tinkering with tomorrow. I need to stay off Craigslist during my lunch hour. But this turned out to be a very good buy today

I am afflicted with the lunch time Craig's list bike purchase syndrome as well. We should start a help group on this forum.  "Hi, I'm Dave, And I am a compulsive lunch time bike purchaser."

I'm jealous...great buy!

agreed. I'm hooked on eBay for parts at lunch. Sometimes I try to leave my phone in the office when I leave for lunch to avoid that.

I blame my boss. We have free wifi plus all the other tenants at the business park have it too. So when I take a break I get the phone out and scan eBay and Craigslist. Today I took my morning break went down the street where the bike was liked what I saw. Got back to work called the guy and said I be by on my lunch break at 11:30 and bought it. This makes the third bike I've bought on my lunch break. The way I look at it I could be a drunk or a drug addict so at least when I wake up in the morning I can still see where my money went.

LOL....I have a custom search set up as a bookmark on Search Tempest for Craigs List.  I spend way too much time between it, Feebay and here!  Its a disorder that I am willing to live with!  I wish my Dad had given me a sweet bike like that!!!  I tried to give my son my K1 but unfortunately he says that he has no urge to ride a motorcycle.  Good Dad!!!
