1976 550 f master cylinder

Hi

Just recieved the kit for the master cylinder, but am totally foxed as to how to get the rubber piston on to the shaft over the two large Dias????. Can't imagine that it would stretch that much

wet it with brake fluid,its seems wrong and abusive but it does go over.

Yeah lube it with some fluid, and don't bend those fins when slipping it over.

Thanks Dr & Dave. Got it over, but no fluid being pumped out after assembly. Rechecked assembly & it seems OK. Any suggestions ?

are you familiar with the bleeding process?squeeze the brake then open the bleed screw,close bleed screw then release brake then squeese it again then open bleed screw then over and over untill it works?

Yes, Dave am familiar with the bleeding process. Problem is that no fluid coming out of the master cylinder to the calipers. Maybe an air lock. Will reassemble the cylinder & see
