Carby slide and bore dimensions
« on: April 07, 2014, 04:10:49 PM »
Hi -
still working on my K2 stutter/froffel problem I posted a while ago.
I have got it almost right - still have a surge at 100Km/h at about 5000RPM in 5th gear. every below and above is pretty good.
I had changed all needles and jets to Keyster's but had several opinions that this might be my problem. So I ordered all new Honda gear and I put them in to the carbies last night - but thought I do a dimension check on both, the slide and the bore on the carbies.

Here is what I got - its a 657A carby bank - bike is 1972 K2 -

Carby#    Slide Outer dia in mm     Carby bore inner dia in mm
    1                  25.92                          26.02 to 26.03
    2                  25.92 to 25.94            26.00 to 26.04
    3                  25.93                          26.02 to 26.04
    4                  25.92                          26.02 to 26.04

So all fairly similar and the slides and bores look good - i.e. no scratches.

But, this is a fairly large 'play' between bore and slide  - about 0.08mm - or more.

I trolled thru the forum here and on Mr.Google, but can not find the original dimensions and tolerances.

Does anyone know where to find them or might have the dimensions?

thanks heaps.
:)
