1976 CB750K6 Front Signal Light Stays
« on: April 15, 2014, 09:18:32 AM »
I'm wondering if any of you fellow K6 owners can verify that the part below is the correct signal light stay for me to order? The PO put a windjammer on and ditched a lot of the components at the front end when I was but a twinkle in my parents' eyes.

Here is the description on VintageCB750.com, but it the site says it only fits 73-74 CBs:
Signal Lamp Stay - Chrome Front - OEM Ref. #90154-341-670, 90154-413-003/013, 90154-445-000/670 65mm Long (90mm total) with 14mm spline and with 10mm mounting thread.

Does that sound right for a K6 as well?

Thanks!
Tom

The diameter end fitting where the signal attaches on  the 75-76 turn signal stalk is bigger than the stalk on a 73-74. If you notice the shape of the signal is different also between the years. I would trust the site to say that it would not be compatible with the newer 75-76 and needs to be used with the 73-74.
Do you have a picture of the signal though that you plan on using, is it the dimple back or the round back. Do you still have the stock rear grab rail and rear signals also as those are different for 75-76 as well.

I sure appreciate the feedback ekpent, I was about to order the 73-74s. I'll post a pic of the signal once I get home to have a look. It is a pretty large, round OEM unit but I'm unsure of the dimple. I don't believe it has one. I still have the stock grab rail and rear signals.

Thanks,
T

I've got odd front stems on my K6 that will eventually be replaced with these:

I just bought these from Z1parts for my 750K5 as part of a complete front/rear signal set. The set, for some reason, is only offered on eBay and not on their website. Quality was very high. I was pleased.

The Z1 items do look to be more correct for the 75-76.

Just a quick update: I mounted the signal light stays from Z1parts last night and they fit perfectly and I second Loach's opinion, quality is very high. Thanks again for weighing in on the issue everyone!
