New member needs help with tire size ???
« on: September 15, 2006, 07:30:46 PM »
Just qualified by buying a 1975 750F.  New battery, plugs, gas and it started up after years in storage.  WONDERFUL ride!  My question is, what is the largest size rear tire I can fit?  I want to put a Metzeler ME77 on, in as wide a size as will fit.  Can you guys help me?
Thanks, Larry W

I got my 75 750k with a 130/90/16 on the back. There was literally only a 32nd of an inch clearance between the edge of the tire and the brace that goes to the rear hub! scary! ... plopped in a spacer so it's clear now... Plannin on replacing the tire this week as a matter of fact. I figure I'll get one the same size as I like the look and it's handlin' just fine.
I know there's quite a few threads in here regarding tire sizes and the like... search it up! I've spent days perusing the forums here.. one things for sure ... you've come to the right place!  8)

I also have a 130/90/16 on the back of my scoot.
As far as what I can see / have read this is the largest tire you can fit in-between a
stock swingarm on these bikes.
