My 1968 S90 has damper the rod/bolts at the bottom. How do I hold the top side to unscrew it?

With forks of that type it's best to loosen the bottom bolts while the tubes are still clamped up in the stem and top clamp.
That goes for the top bolt as well (where you pour the oil in) for models with the pinch-bolt tops........

Yes I did that. It's the bolt at the bottom of the leg that screws into the damping rod that I need to hold from above. It just spins now
