Hey all
Just bought a NOS CB500 +3mm kit to put in my stock CB550K, will have the cylinders bored to match at 59mm.
I had a couple of questions about the rings in the kit. The kit came with a 1 piece oil ring. Anyone have any thoughts or experience using these? Should I try and source 3 piece oil rings instead?
Also I was wondering if anyone could confirm the correct installation for the rings. Its obvious as to where the oil ring goes, but wanted to make sure where the other two rings are meant to go. I read on another thread that the stamped marking dictate the "up" side, and that the one marked STD 3 is the second ring. Anyone?
One of the top two rings and the oil ring are stamped "3".
The other ring is stamped "STD 3", and one side has a bevel.
