Quick question about re-assembly order for cb550

Finally back to my 75 550 project.   I have a question about the order to reassemble the main systems from the carbs back to the inner rear fender.

Seems like order will matter and I dont want to do the assemble then disassemble dance if I can avoid it.

If I put the side electrical panel on first so that I can complete the wiring (the task I am on now), will I be able to get the airbox and carbs back on later?

Or do I have to build it essentially from the carbs rearward? Meaning, put on carbs, loose install the airbox, then the electrical panel and battery box?

Ideally i want to put carbs on last, but dont want to have to take this thing back apart again.   I have heard you can take carbs off the bike while engine and airbox is still on bike, but that it is a bit of a pain...

yes put the airbox on before the carbs, it is a bit of a pain installing carbs but nothing too bad,

No, No.

Pain is in the mind of the beholder.  Finesse over force is my motto.

Helps to put the filter box in or at least final mount it, after the carbs are in place.  Also helps A LOT, to have nice soft rubber couplers fore and aft of the carbs.  Soak them in wintergreen oil, the day before install.

One tip for ya that is not related to any related to any of your specific questions...be sure and install the brake pedal pivot, return spring, and control rod before installing the swingarm.

thanks all.

Great help as always.   SohRon's build thread is truly EPIC.   It has been my bible.   It could be published as a how to book with a bit more effort and he could make some $$$ from his work.    Soon I will be past where he has dropped off on his build.   Thanks again
