Introducing from North Texas...
« on: June 26, 2014, 01:26:25 AM »
Hey everyone, I am new to the forum although I have been reading from the bleachers section for a while. My name is Terry and I live near Dallas. I recently picked up my donor project which is at this point nothing more than a "roller" and boxes and buckets full of parts. It is supposed to be a 1976 CB750F, but thanks to the pervious owner who already hacked away at it and added some aftermarket bits and pieces, the frame and engine are the only parts that closely resemble the original "scoot." There's a long road ahead to actually get this bike street worthy again, but I look forward to posting pics of the finished product at a later date and welcome advice from those here who have already re-invented the wheels on this model. Let the heckling commence...  8)

Welcome, Terry!

Looks like you got some late wheels too.

Good luck with the project.

Ya the wheels along with many other parts will prolly go up for sale or for trade at some point to help finance some laced hubs and rims. Not sure what kind of forks it came with either, but I know they aren't from a cb of that year because they are air assisted. But there's a long way to go before I get to any of that...

Welcome from Lake Travis. The forks could be from a GL, a common swap.

Ya that's what they look like, possibly a GL500 but I'm more leaning toward the GSXR swap out front and dual discs with laced rims. It didn't come with both calipers or discs for the front and I've been trying to source a rear caliper as well, because what came bolted onto it in the rear only has 2-3mm of space between the swingarm and sprocket with no spacers at all. There's lots of tab and fab work here to do also.
